Workflow Engine to Replace Spreadsheet Hell
Every spreadsheet workflow you would never let an auditor see, rebuilt as a versioned, role-based, fully logged workflow application — without writing code.
The pain
Critical operational workflows — onboarding, change requests, approvals, claims processing, vendor intake — run in fragile spreadsheets with VLOOKUPs that break when the wrong person touches them. No audit trail, no role-based access, no version control.
What gets built
- Form-driven workflow definitions: states, transitions, role-based actions, conditional routing
- Per-step audit log: who acted, when, with what data, what changed
- Approval workflows with delegation, escalation, and SLA tracking
- Bulk import from existing spreadsheets (preserves history as initial-state record)
- Reporting layer: cycle time, bottleneck detection, throughput by stage
- Templates library: change management (CMP swimlane), CAPA, vendor intake, onboarding, RFI/RFQ
Stack
- NocoDB / Baserow
- n8n
- Next.js + Supabase
- Metabase
- Docker Compose
Pricing
$7K–$15K per workflow implementation + $300–$1,000/mo managed hosting
